When the World Forgets, God Remembers

In a world quick to define people by their worst mistake, we serve a God who specializes in rewriting stories.

At CHARM, we see this truth lived out every day. Men and women once labeled by prison numbers, criminal records, and broken pasts are now walking in freedom, purpose, and peace. The world may turn away, but Jesus always turns toward. He steps into prison cells, transitional homes, fractured families, and wounded hearts, and speaks a better word:

You are not forgotten. You are Mine.

Scripture reminds us in Isaiah 49:16: “See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.”

Holy Ground Behind the Walls

The work CHARM does is not flashy or comfortable. It happens in places most people avoid. But it is holy work.

Inside prisons and within our transitional homes, we witness transformation that only the Gospel can produce. This is not behavior modification or surface-level reform. This is heart-level change. Old identities are laid down. New creation life takes root.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” – 2 Corinthians 5:17

We’ve watched men enslaved by addiction discover freedom through Christ. We’ve seen women who once believed they were disposable learn they are deeply valued by God. Shame gives way to dignity. Fear is replaced with hope.

This is where the Gospel comes alive.

From Forgotten to Faithful

One of the most powerful truths we’ve learned at CHARM is this: the people society overlooks are often the very ones God chooses to use.

Throughout Scripture, God repeatedly calls the forgotten, the rejected, and the marginalized to carry His purposes forward. Prison is no exception. Many of the men and women we disciple go on to become mentors, volunteers, business owners, faithful parents, and spiritual leaders.

They don’t just reenter society. They help renew it.

“But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong.” – 1 Corinthians 1:27

At CHARM, discipleship doesn’t end at release. It continues through intentional community, accountability, and long-term support. We walk with people as they learn to live out their faith, rebuild relationships, and step into the calling God has placed on their lives.

Why This Work Matters

This ministry isn’t about programs or statistics. It’s about people bearing the image of God. It’s about reconciliation with Christ and restoration within families and communities. It’s about refusing to believe that anyone is beyond hope.

When the world forgets, God remembers. And He invites His Church to remember too.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit.” – Psalm 34:18 At CHARM, we are committed to standing in that truth. To showing up. To discipling deeply. To believing boldly. Because we serve a God who never gives up—and neither will we.
