Who
We Are

Our Roots

David and Kaye Trickett founded Christ’s Hope and Reconciliation Ministry (C.H.A.R.M.) in 2009. Since its launch, C.H.A.R.M. has ministered to over 10,000 inmates and housed over 400 men and women in our transitional homes. To learn more about the journey of C.H.A.R.M., watch the video below.

Our Mission

Bringing the hope found only in Jesus Christ to incarcerated men and women, correctional personnel, and their respective families.

Our Vision

C.H.A.R.M. exists to see the souls of all it encounters reconciled to God, lives transformed, and relationships restored with families, the church, and communities.

Our Ministry Approach

At C.H.A.R.M., we look beyond the criminal and see a person. We see prisoners as people made in God’s image, people worth getting to know. Through one-on-one relationships, we introduce them to the hope found only in Jesus Christ and lead them to reconciliation with God. We stand with them while they are behind the walls and walk beside them as they transition back to society.

With the love of Christ, we take them by the hand as He leads them out of their past and transforms their hearts, their minds, their lives, their relationships, and their futures.

What We Do

Each year, C.H.A.R.M. reaches thousands of inmates incarcerated in Texas through hundreds of ministry events. Built on a foundation of one-on-one relationships, we use a three-fold ministry approach that begins while men and women are incarcerated and continues through their transition back into society.

David Trickett

Founding Director
David formed C.H.A.R.M. after answering God’s calling on his life while still incarcerated. It was in prison God gave him a vision for the ministry, a vision that still gives direction to the ministry today. His favorite part about his role in the ministry is having a front row seat to God’s work in the lives of those C.H.A.R.M. serves. David’s favorite Bible verse is 2 Timothy 2:1-3 because it lays out our call as believers to make disciples. Outside of CHARM, David enjoys spending time with his family, coaching high school football and enjoying good food!

Kaye Trickett

Founding Director
Kaye has been a part of C.H.A.R.M. from the beginning as a Founding Director. Her favorite part of being a part of the ministry is hearing the stories of His transformative love, telling His story, and being a part of His story. Her favorite Scripture is Philippians 4:13 because of its reminder that we can’t, but He can. Outside of C.H.A.R.M., Kaye enjoys reading, writing and singing.

Tommie Dorsett

Public Relations and Business Development
Tommie Dorsett joined the C.H.A.R.M. staff in 2016 after working in ministry prior to that. His favorite part about being a part of the ministry is the opportunity that C.H.A.R.M. provides him to assist men in overcoming barriers in transitioning from prison to society. His favorite Bible verse is: Colossians 1:9-13 because it is the prayer of Paul that he prays for himself and others daily for knowledge, wisdom, and spiritual understanding. Outside of C.H.A.R.M., Tommie enjoys fishing, hunting, and baseball.

Hayden Catt

Executive Assistant
Hayden joined the staff in 2021 after being a transitional house resident. His favorite part of being a part of the C.H.A.R.M. family is being a part of men connecting to Jesus in authentic and life-changing ways. Hayden shares that generational curses are being broken at C.H.A.R.M. and new, Godly heritages are being formed. His favorite scripture is John 3:30 as it reminds Him of how he should live each day of his life. Outside of C.H.A.R.M., Hayden enjoys reading as much as he can.
